As soon as we decided to go full-time, getting automatic levelers went from the "Nice-to-have" list straight to the "Gotta-Get'em" list. We had Lichtsinn's install HWH levelers. Great decision.

I found the original foam mattress on our corner bed pretty uncomfortable. I added a memory foam topper which really helped, but wasn't very durable. After going through a couple of those - and deciding to go full-time - we replaced the mattress. Verlo makes their mattresses in-store and they were able to cut one to exactly the right size. It's tall and heavier than the old one, but oh-so-comfy!

RV showers often come with a switch to shut off the water flow without turning off the shower. This is to save water of course, but allow you to keep the temperature setting without scalding or freezing yourself every time you turn on the water flow. The switch on our original shower head began failing in the fall of 2019 and we replaced it with the Oxygenetics shower head made specifically for RVs.

We have a two-burner propane stove that came with a Piezo igniter. Although functional, Piezo lighters are loud and clunky, and on ours, the smaller burner had trouble igniting. We replaced the Piezo with a battery-powered lighter that's much quieter and works a lot better.

The dinette shade has a blackout shade and a sun-blocking mesh shade that came standard with Weepy. But the shade at the bedroom was only a blackout. We had Lichtsinn trade it out for the same dual shade as at the dinette.

One of the first things we did was to add motion/light-detecting battery-operated lights in the upper cabinets. They're great!

On our first trip, the slide wall broke. The slide-out still worked, but strange noises had us taking it back to Lichtsinn as soon as we got back to Iowa. They found that rivets used to hold the wall in place had broken. They repositioned the wall, drilled out the rivets and replaced them with bolts. The good news is we probably have a much stronger slide wall!

Our propane furnace started working intermittently. The fan still worked, but the furnace wouldn't light most of the time. The propane regulator was replaced. It's a common problem with the View/Navions, and since under warranty is was replaced with the same brand, it will most likely fail again someday. We carry a new one that's a better quality with us from Marshall Excelsior.

July, 2021: The second regulator went kaput and Check switched it to the Marshall Excelsior.

We have heating pads on the bottom of our gray and black tanks that we can turn on if we need to dump in freezing weather. The pads weren't stuck on well enough and were falling off. Replaced under warranty

Our water pump sometimes will not work. It's a loose connection because as soon as I bump it, it will come on. I actually wish it would take a little longer to fix so I could see where the loose connection is and fix it permanently. Update February 2019 It was getting worse so we finally took apart the bed to get at the pump. Check tightened up a couple of the crimp connectors and so far so good. Update April 2019 No go. Still going out at inopportune times (like when I'm in the shower my face covered in soap). Check re-crimped all the connectors. Good so far.

The motor on our powered skylight has already been replaced once, and it sounds like the new motor has already gone bad. It starts making a clunking noise which Lichtsinn says is a broken tooth on the gear. Update May 2019 Took back to Lichtsinn's who said this time the gear if fine, it's just making noise. The first time it happened the gears had stripped.

We had water running into the under-bed storage compartment. It turned out that the filter on the water pump was loose. A minor issue, and nobody's fault but our own, but nonetheless it damaged all the wood under the floor of the compartment.

We had a little bit of water from the black tank come out of the sewer hose hookup when the cap was removed. Lichtsinn said it could be a number of things, but the most common was the valve so they replaced that and it seemed to do the trick. Update February 2019 The black tank valve started leaking again and was getting hard to open and closed. This time I turned to my old friend, YouTube, and found that some folks add a little bit of vegetable oil to the gray and black tanks. It worked immediately! The oil lubricates the rubber seals, making them slide easier and seal better.

Another known problem with the View/Navions is the solenoid that enables the house batteries to charge while driving. We knew from the View/Navion Facebook group that the solenoid would fail one day, so when it finally did in March, 2020 we were prepared with a new and beefier Cole-Hersee replacement.

We boondocked almost the entire summer of 2020. Near the end, our house batteries were no longer charging when we ran the generator (or on the rare times we were plugged in), and the fault was with the converter. We were ready to order a new one, but when Check removed the original, he found that one of the battery wires was never really connected correctly. He was able to fix it and it's working OK now.

The compressor on our Coleman Mach 10 AC stopped working summer, 2021. We took it to a "certified" Coleman shop, who changed out the control board. The short story is that it didn't work, and neither did swapping out a relay switch nor did replacing two capacitors. We finally ordered a new, different unit, a RecPro Houghton 15K.
